Becoming More Valuable
The late, great Jim Rohn said, “You can’t get rich by demand, you have to become more valuable.” No truer words have been spoken.
People often say, “Lou, you are so lucky.” The interesting fact is the harder I work the luckier I get.
There are two areas of my life that I’m constantly working on. The first is personal development. What exactly is personal development? The way I see it, it’s working on yourself to create more value to the people around you. The second is business development; creating more value for your customers and clients.
Why is it that some people are paid $10 per hour, while others are paid $50 per hour? The one that is getting paid more is considered to be more valuable to the business.
We don’t get paid for our time. We get paid for the value we bring to the marketplace. If you want to make more money in the same amount of time, then strive to become more valuable to the people around you. Give more value to your clients and your clients will view you as more valuable, and in business value translates into income.

A Business Plan For Success
If you take a look at most highly successful businesses, you will notice they all have one thing in common, and that is a written business plan, but if you were to ask almost any entertainer, magician, or variety artist, you will be hard-presssed to find even one with a written business plan. Is it any wonder why most entertainers are struggling financially? If you want to succeed in this business, you must do the things others aren’t willing to do.
A business plan serves as your road map for success. It’s what guides you in making your business decisions. The above video gives you the details on how to put one together. It can be created in as little as 20 minutes. It’s a very simple plan, but the results it can produce are priceless.

How I Almost Lost My Life and The Lesson I Learned
Several years ago I almost lost my life while on vacation in Cancun, Mexico. It was one of the most traumatic experiences of my life. To this day it’s difficult to share this story, because every time I do I relive the experience all over again.
The video above recounts my story and the profound lesson I learned; a lesson I’ve applied to all areas of my life, and has enabled me to achieve success as a magician, performer, speaker, and marketer of magic-related products. I believe it’s a lesson worth sharing.

Your Next Gig Might Just Be One Phone Call Away
What if I told you your next gig might just be one phone call away. Would you be willing to make that call?
The above video describes one simple technique that can book you one more gig and propel your business forward, but are you willing to take action and apply this technique?
Most people hate selling themselves, especially on the phone. I hate doing it myself, so instead of thinking of it as selling, I think of it as staying in touch with my customers and relating to them as one human being to another.
In all of my business relationships, I try to develop a rapport with the other person. I have a genuine care and concern for the person I’m dealing with and I always do my best to make sure that everyone involved comes out a winner in their interaction with me.
Keep in mind, that highly successful people are the ones that are willing to do the things others aren’t willing to do. Yet, most of the actions that create breakthrough success take such little effort. Most people tend to think that success comes from taking one giant action, one enormous step to take a leap forward in business, when in actuality, it comes from taking small steps on a consistent basis.
It’s the small steps that keep the momentum going, and it’s the accumulation of all these steps that propel you forward making it seem as if you’ve taken one giant leap in achieving the success you desire for yourself.
