I’ve been studying marketing and business development for over 25 years; longer than I’ve been studying and performing magic. Throughout the years I’ve had mentors and coaches, I’ve enrolled in coaching and business development programs, and I’ve coached others on their journey to become incredibly successful entertainers. Some of these people have gone on to produce six-figure yearly incomes.
In my own journey to success I often say that I don’t know what I don’t know. There are strategies and tools that others use to create success and wealth that I don’t know about, and in seeking out coaching from others I’m able to fill in the gaps. I learn and emulate the actions of others who are much more successful than me, and in doing so it helps me to create unprecedented success in my own business and life.
I just finished Barry Friedman’s Showbiz Blueprint. It’s an intensive 10-week business development program. I learned a few things… Continue reading
The holiday season is one the busiest times of the year for most event industry professionals. Event producers, corporate entertainment providers, and event vendors are all busy servicing the vast array of corporate and social holiday parties.
If you’ve been diligent with your marketing, you probably have a full calendar through the end of the year, but you may still have some empty dates you’d like to fill.
In this video I share three ideas that you can immediately implement that will help fill your calendar. I also share one final idea to make 2016 your best year yet.
Until next time, go out and share your message, share your talent, share your expertise, share the passion for whatever it is that you do, and make a positive difference in the world.
I received a phone call a week ago to perform on The Kennedy Administration podcast. I would have the opportunity to perform an eight-minute set of magic followed by an eight-minute interview.
I had never heard of this podcast, so I did a little research. The podcast is shot in front of a live audience of about 80 people in a nightclub in the heart of Los Angeles, and I figured it would be an interesting experience.
As I got closer to the date, I wanted to cancel. It was a date that didn’t pay, and the only thing I’d get out of it was exposure, but the exposure I’d receive wouldn’t be for my target audience. I perform primarily for high-end social and corporate events. This podcast is geared towards a younger generation of “hipsters”, and I‘m much too old to qualify as a “hipster”.
The one thing I was… Continue reading

There are three main areas which we need to focus on in building our business, which I call ACR – Attraction, Conversion, & Retention. First we have to attract the right customers to us, then we must convert prospects into paying customers, and finally we must retain them so they invest in our products and services over and over again.
The following idea has been the cornerstone of my success, and has provided the most value to the success of my business over the years. Retaining customers is far easier, more cost-efficient, and less labor-intensive than acquiring new customers.
In this video I share with you one simple idea that will start the process of building relationships with your customers, so they come back and buy from you again and again.
To your success!
Here is one idea that can mean the difference between failure and success. Not failure and success in the short term, but failure and success on the long haul. What you do is important. Why you do it is even more important. If you have an important enough “Why?”, it can carry you through difficult times to achieve the success you desire.

Using video in your marketing is one of the most powerful ways to generate attention, leads, and income to your business. It can also generate attention to your cause or mission, and it can create a presence for you online. There benefits to using video marketing are many. I believe it can help any business regardless of the business that you’re in. In this video I share several ways to use video marketing to in your own business.
I recorded this before the start of my first show of the week in the Close-Up Gallery at the Magic Castle in Hollywood. There is one question I ask myself before the start of every week of performances. “Why should anyone come in to see my show?” With so many magicians performing on the same night, how am I going to get noticed?
Here are three ideas to think about when putting together a presentation of any kind. They may help in your journey in differentiating yourself from your competition.
As always, I welcome your comments, and if you haven’t already, please subscribe to my blog by leaving your name and email address in the sign up box.

One of the best ways to build your business is by speaking in public. It increases your visibility, attracts new customers, and establishes you as the expert in your field. Whether you’re a professional public speaker, entertainer, real estate agent, lawyer, contractor, or a plumber, everyone can benefit from speaking to the right audience.
There are some very intelligent and articulate people who tend to clam up when put in front of an audience, and I believe the reason is fear. Maybe it’s the fear of failure, the fear of embarrassment, or the fear that others may think that they don’t know what they’re talking about. This is normal. Everyone who first gets up in front of an audience has these fears. The way to conquer these fears is to actually do it. The only way to get better as a public speaker is to speak often. Practice and repetition are the key elements to becoming a great public… Continue reading
I recently posted a video called The Million Dollar Secret, and although I received overwhelming support for the idea I shared, I still had a few people who were concerned with some perceived underlying negative issues. One issue that was brought to my attention was the idea that I was “using” people to gain something from a relationship.
Let me state right here that I don’t believe in “using” anyone for anything. Instead, I believe in building relationships. When you build “meaningful” relationships with others, all parties gain something from the relationship.
The most meaningful relationships are based on mutual trust, respect, shared values, passions, and sense of purpose. This applies to all relationships whether it’s with your friends, spouse, business partner, or mentor. Basing relationships on the idea that you can “use” them for certain purposes is a formula destined for failure.
One thing you should know about me is that I LOVE people! It’s one of the… Continue reading
