The Power Of A Promise

“Better a broken promise than none at all.” – Mark Twain

At the beginning of the year I made a promise to all of you – the people who read my blog, who watch my videos, and who inspire me to do what I do. I made a commitment to make one blog post every single week for the entire year. Last week I fell short and didn’t make a post. I broke my promise.

Wouldn’t it be wonderful if we all kept every one of our commitments? How much better would the world be? How much more successful would we all be? How much stronger would the bonds be between the people we love and care about?

I’m a huge believer in living a life of integrity. Doing what you say when you say you’re going to do it. A person of integrity keeps all their commitments no matter how small. After all, when you consistently take care of your small commitments, it’s so much easier to take care of your larger ones.

Yet we all fall short at one point or another. Why? It’s a symptom of being human. We are all perfectly imperfect.

So what to do? Start again where you left off.

If you make a commitment to improving your health by eating healthy and exercising a minimum of four times a week, and you fall short by binging on chocolate cake or missing a day of exercise, it’s not a reason to abandon your plan. Just start over the next day.

So although I missed a week, I’m back again still committed to sharing my ideas with all of you. Ideas that have the power to transform lives; not only yours, but mine as well.

The more videos and articles I post on my blog, the more email I receive from people who’ve taken the ideas and put them to use. People who have created success by taking action. People who have achieved success through the power of a promise.

Thanks for getting back AT IT !
It is a great reminder for me TO make corrections ON the FLY , AND not follow the missed STEP further down THAN I wanted TO, until THE WAY back LOOKS TOO FAR AWAY.
